1. The Problem

Quercetin is a potent plant-based flavonoid with known anticancer, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory effects. However, its clinical application is limited by:

  • Poor water solubility
  • Low bioavailability
  • Rapid clearance from the body

Despite strong therapeutic potential, free quercetin is nearly ineffective without a delivery strategy.

1.1 The Objective

Design and develop a biocompatible, nanoparticle-based delivery system for Quercetin that:

2. My Role

I independently led the entire R&D lifecycle:

  • Formulation strategy
  • Experiment planning
  • Iterative synthesis
  • Characterization and testing
  • Data interpretation and reporting

What I Learned

This project taught me how to:

  • Translate theory into experimental design
  • Handle complex scientific instrumentation and datasets
  • Drive research with a focus on real-world biological application
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into clear outcomes
